This is the second case when the municipal inspector was caught taking bribe in the municipal corporation. Inspector Sanjay Sangat does the work of filling the attendance of the sweepers daily. Complainant Rekha Bai also cleans in the same ward. Was asking for bribe, so that he could mark the attendance of both the time lines. Rekha Bai denied that Rekha’s salary for the months of October and November had been drawn. The accused was demanding thousand rupees for the last two months 14 before the December salary. When Rekha’s daughter came to know about this, she complained to the Lokayukta police. The police sent Rekha Bai and her daughter to the sub-inspector by giving them thousand rupees. Chemical was applied in the note, as soon as the accused kept the note in his hand. The jawans waiting outside came inside and arrested the inspector. Salary is made on the basis of attendance In the Municipal Corporation, the inspector does the work of marking the attendance of the sweepers. The attendance information is given at the zonal office. Salary is prepared according to the attendance. Many a times the sweepers do not turn up for work and the sub-inspector demands money in lieu of marking old attendance. Inspector Sanjay was also pressurizing the sweeper for this. In two months, the Lokayukta department has caught another government employee taking bribe.
