Rivers and streams were flooded in Betma police station area near Indore since late Saturday night. A youth’s car slipped in the fast flow of water on the bridge and the youth drifted away. When family members called, the phone went unanswered. The police were informed of this. The body of the youth was found stranded in the bushes on Sunday morning. Police have handed over the body to the family after post-mortem at the community health centre.
According to information, Rahul Singh Pawar, elder brother of Youth Front leader Rohit Pawar of village Shankarpura in Betma police station area (8177)) died of drowning in the fast flow of water. Rahul’s body was not found till late at night. In the morning, villagers saw Rahul’s body and informed the police. Police found Rahul’s body in the bushes near Kalka Mata Mandir Shmashan Road. The bike was also found lying in the water nearby. Rahul Pawar worked in a mobile shop in Pithampur. where he was going to give back the keys to the shop. It is believed that his bike was washed away in the fast flow of the canal at a bridge near Betma.
