Bhubaneswar : India on Wednesday launched Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) interceptor AD-1 missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. Successfully tested the second phase. All ballistic missile defense weapon systems with BMD interceptor AD-1 were also successfully test fired.

BMD Interceptor AD-1 Long Range missile system. Through this missile system, ballistic missiles and fighter planes of enemies located at long distances can be shot down in the sky.

According to the media report, BMD Interceptor AD-1 The missile system of the second stage is driven by strong motor. Along with this, this ballistic missile system is equipped with indigenous control system, navigation and guidance algorithms.

As per Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), This missile system performed as expected during flight testing with all sub-systems and was controlled by data captured by multiple range sensors including radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking stations.

Let us tell you that last month, India had built an indigenously built medium distance from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The ballistic missile Agni Prime was successfully test fired. At that time, the lightweight missile was tested from a mobile launcher during the first phase of testing.
