Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has made his national ambitions clear and changed the name of his party, while his Tamil Nadu counterpart MK Stalin emphasized that he is already on the national scene. At his birthday rally on March 1, he described the Congress as a key force in efforts to oust the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre, but also played down the prospects of a Third Front. Rao and Stalin have proved to be regional satraps who can match the might of the BJP and both have been seen with top national leaders in the recent past.
