In the Saurashtra region, the Congress won 2017 the Patidar dominated seats of Morbi, Tankra, Dhoraji and Amreli. However, all these assembly constituencies have gone to the BJP this time. In Patidar-dominated Surat, where AAP relied on the community to win some seats, the community largely supported the ruling party. The party won the Patidar seats of Varachha Road, Katargam and Olpad with huge margins.
