PM Modi said that these workers demonstrated because water did not reach here. He accused the activists of defaming Gujarat to such an extent that even the World Bank had stopped funding the project. The Prime Minister said that when the Congress comes to you seeking votes, I want you to ask them on what moral grounds the opposition party is seeking votes when their leader is undertaking a padyatra with a woman who was against the Narmada project. I request you to ask this question to Congress.

PM Modi said that the BJP government in Gujarat has taken steps to address the issue of water scarcity through various schemes such as building small dams, digging new wells and lakes, and transporting water through pipelines worked hard for years. The PM said that today the entire Kutch and Kathiawar region is getting water through the pipeline network. We believe in providing permanent solutions to problems. We understand that water and electricity are essential for development. The Congress government was only interested in setting up handpumps. It is noteworthy that voting for the assembly elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. Whereas, the results of the election will be released on December 8.
