If we look at the current assembly, BTP has two MLAs. While Chhotu Vasava represents Jhagadia seat in Bharuch, his son and BTP national president Mahesh Vasava is an MLA from Dediapadain in Narmada district. If you remember, an experienced tribal leader, Chhotu Vasava was with JD(U) from 1990 to 2017. He left the party after Nitish Kumar forged an alliance with the BJP and formed the BTP before the 2017 assembly elections. He had earlier 2020 an electoral alliance with the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM before the Gujarat Panchayat elections and this year with the AAP. However, Vasava broke ties with AAP and claimed that Kejriwal was working at the behest of the BJP.
