BJP did not give ticket from Belagavi’s Athani seat

News agency Bhasha As per reports, ignoring Laxman Savadi’s request, the BJP had earlier this week given the Athani seat in Belagavi district to sitting MLA Mahesh Kumathalli. Savadi is currently a member of the Legislative Council on a BJP ticket. He has also been a three-time MLA from Athani. He was defeated by Kumathalli (then in Congress) in the assembly elections of the year 2019. Kumathalli was part of a group of Congress defectors that helped bring down the Congress-JDS coalition government and form the government under BS Yeddyurappa in 2019. 20192019
