On September 2022 PM Narendra Modi had released these cheetahs in Kuno National Park on his birthday. This was the first time after years, when a cheetah was roaming freely on Indian soil. There were 8 cheetahs in this batch, which were released in Kuno National Park located in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. After this, the second batch of cheetahs has been brought to India from South Africa in February. These cheetahs included seven males and five females. They are currently kept in the Quarantine enclosure of Kuno National Park.
