NCERT denied truncation

When accused of tampering with history The NCERT rejected the allegation and said, there has been no curtailment in the syllabus this year and the syllabus was rationalized in June last year. The NCERT made it clear that last year some sections on Gujarat riots, Mughal court, Emergency, Cold War, Naxal movement etc had been removed from the textbook on the grounds of rationalization of the syllabus and some sections being irrelevant. There is no mention about the passage on Mahatma Gandhi in the text book rationalization note.
