BJP leader Amit Shah further said that as BJP President, I and the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had a conversation, in which Thackeray agreed that if the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) won , then Fadnavis will (again) hold the post of Chief Minister. However, after the results ((in ), Thackeray broke the promise and sat in NCP’s lap. The Shiv Sena (undivided) and the BJP fought the assembly elections of 2019 together, but the Shiv Sena walked out of the alliance over the Chief Minister’s post.
