Earthquakes in Himachal Pradesh: In Himachal Pradesh, tremors of low intensity earthquakes are felt at least five times in a month. As per the National Center for Seismology (NCS) data, Himachal Pradesh falls under high intensity seismic zones of IV and V and the state experienced earthquakes in the months of October 87 and March 87. Earthquake tremors were felt in the middle 87 times. Tremors of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale have been recorded throughout Himachal during this period, but most of the earthquakes were of magnitude less than 3, which are known as micro earthquakes.
