Delhi News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, the newly constructed 3,8938 for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers in Kalkaji area of the national capital Delhi. will inaugurate EWS flats. During this, the keys of the flat will also be handed over to the beneficiaries. This information was given on Tuesday in a statement issued by the PMO.
According to the statement, these houses built in Kalkaji have been constructed under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Scheme and have been constructed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The PMO said that the Prime Minister will hand over the keys of the newly constructed houses to the residents of the landless camp during a program organized at Vigyan Bhawan located here.
what is the objective of the project?
The objective of this rehabilitation project is to provide better and healthy living environment with proper facilities to the residents of Jhuggi-Jhopri cluster. It was told that DDA has started 3 such projects in Kalkaji Extension, Jailerwala Bagh and Kathputli Colony. Under Kalkaji Extension Project, three slum clusters namely Bhumiless Camp, Navjeevan Camp and Jawahar Camp located in Kalkaji are being rehabilitated in a phased manner. Under the first phase 950 EWS flats have been constructed at the nearby commercial center site .
Flat equipped with all civic amenities
Under the first phase of this project 3490 flats have been prepared and their The construction has cost approx 82 crores. These flats are equipped with all civic amenities. These include vitrified floor tiles, ceramic styling and a green marble counter in the kitchen. At the same time, public facilities like community park, electric sub-station, sewage treatment plant, dual water pipeline, lift, underground reservoir for clean water supply etc. have also been provided. The allotment of flats will provide ownership as well as a sense of security to the people.
