Delhi University Student Protest: A group of students belonging to the Students Federation of India (SFI) protested against non-veg food at Delhi University’s (DU) Hansraj College. bandh’ and protest against the alleged attempts to ‘saffronize the campus’. SFI’s Hansraj College Unit said in a statement that there is a protest inside the college campus against the ban on non-veg food and 26 Demonstration will also be held outside Hansraj hostel on January. Stopped serving non veg food Students said that after reopening in February last year after the pandemic, Hansraj College had stopped serving non-veg food in its canteen and hostel. However, no official order has come on this. The SFI claimed that cases have also come to the fore where the Hansraj administration confiscated eggs from students who brought them to the hostel. The student group said that a survey was conducted inside Hansraj Hostel in which approx 65 Percentage students were found to be non-vegetarian. It said that Rama Sharma, principal of Hansraj College, had earlier claimed that the college’s 90 percentage of students are vegetarian.

When these issues were raised in the campus, the rightist forces reacted violently to suppress it. It said, ‘This reaction of the Rightist forces and the attitude of the administration towards it shows the attempt to saffronize the university campuses.

I do not think any order has been issued. this is unfair. We are staying away from our family and we need proper nutritious food.
