We are not saying this but the passengers traveling from this station are saying this. Actually, at present no facility is available at this station. The biggest thing is that in place of these three materials, toys are being made available to the passengers to play here. It must be sounding somewhat funny. But it is true that the food and drink stall has been set up here, whereas at present there is a toy shop. This problem has persisted for the last one year since the canteen operated here has been closed.

Damoh railway station is a model railway station and according to the rules of railway management every facility should be available to the passengers. But at present the travelers have to wander even for water. Thousands of passengers travel daily from this station, who have to carry water with them. Passengers who alight on the platform when the trains stop go outside the railway station to get water bottles, tea and eatables. This problem is persisting since last one year. No one responsible of the railway management has paid attention to this till date. Passengers traveling from the station Virendra Patel, Manish Srivastava, Arvind Jain and Neeraj Jain said that there is no facility of tea, water and food at Damoh railway station. This will probably be the first district headquarter railway station in India which does not have any of these three facilities.

खाने के स्टॉल में मिल रहे खिलौने
रेलवे स्टेशन पर संचालित कैंटीन बंद होने के बाद यहां एक स्टेशन एक उत्पाद नाम से स्टॉल खोला गया था। उनमें खाने के साथ पानी की बोतल भी मिलती थी, लेकिन जिसने इसका टेंडर लिया था वह भी महज कुछ दिन ही इसे चला पाया और स्टॉल बंद कर दिया। इसके एक खिलौने वाले ने यह स्टॉल ले लिया और खाने, पीने की सामग्री की जगह यात्रियों को खिलौने मिल रहे हैं। इस समय भीषण गर्मी हो रही है और यात्रियों को पानी के लिए भी परेशान होना पड़ रहा है, क्योंकि हर यात्री प्याउ का पानी नहीं पीता। इसके अलावा चाय और खाने की सामग्री के लिए तो परेशान होना ही पड़ रहा है।

कैंटीन बंद होने के बाद बिगड़ी व्यवस्थाएं
दमोह रेलवे स्टेशन पर ठेकेदार रामभरोसे गौतम के द्वारा पिछले 40 सालों से कैंटीन का संचालन किया जा रहा था। लेकिन उन्होंने कैंटीन बंद कर दी। विक्की गौतम ने बताया कि रेलवे ने कैंटीन का किराया बढ़ा दिया और लॉकडाउन के दौरान वेंडर की 90 हजार फीस मांगी गई। साथ ही अलग से वेंडर रखने के लिए कहा गया। जिस कैंटीन का किराया करीब दो लाख रुपये साल था, वह सीधे चार लाख पर पहुंच गया। इसलिए उन्होंने कैंटीन बंद करना ही बेहतर समझा। पिछले एक साल से कैंटीन बंद है और उसके बाद किसी ने भी इतने महंगे रेट पर कैंटीन नहीं ली। तभी से यात्रियों को चाय, पानी और खाने के लिए परेशान होना पड़ रहा है।
