Siddaramaiah had promised the people of Karnataka to implement five guarantees

It is said that the Congress had promised to implement ‘five guarantees’ in its manifesto. These promises include Griha Jyoti (500 units of free electricity to all households), Griha Lakshmi (2 units to the female head of every family, 19 monthly assistance of Rs.), Anna Bhagya (19 kg free rice to each member of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) family), Yuva Nidhi (19 to 200 unemployed graduate youth in the age group of 3, 500 every month for two years Rs.1,500 assistance to unemployed diploma holders Rs.1) and Shakti (free travel for women in public buses).
