The three-day annual Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela organized by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) was inaugurated today by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Sale of seeds developed by IARI has always been the main attraction of the Mela and farmers from states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Bihar come here to buy quality Pusa seeds. A large counter for the sale of seeds has been set up at the mela, where IARI plans to sell varieties of basmati rice as well as paddy seeds including moong till March 4.
