ED is continuously raiding in West Bengal and Jharkhand regarding coal smuggling. Cash worth about 1.5 crore has been recovered in a raid in the house of a businessman for more than an hour. It is being told that the strings of this case are related to coal smuggling. ED sources told that the money of coal smuggling used to come to the businessman through hawala. After that black money was whitened here. And the ED officials are probing if there is any political connection behind it.

Bengal BJP chief accuses Mamta

In this case, West Bengal BJP chief Sukant Majumdar alleged that the businessman had direct relations with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Talking to reporters on Thursday, Mazumdar said, ‘ED mentioned two businessmen in a press briefing, one of whom is Manjit Singh Grewal alias Jitti Bhai, Mamta Banerjee has direct links with him. He has been seen with Mamta and her family, as well as the recovered money linked to the coal scam in West Bengal. The state BJP chief has demanded a court-monitored recovery probe by the ED and disclosure of the identity of all those involved in the coal scam.

There was an attempt to kill me – Sukant Mazumdar

Along with this, Sukant Mazumdar alleged that his car was attacked by some people carrying TMC flags. He said that, there was an attempt to attack me and break my car. Thankfully I had security personnel with me and I narrowly escaped. The attackers had TMC flags in their hands. After all he said that there is no democracy in West Bengal, we will continue our work.

1768 ED had reached Abhishek Banerjee’s house
