According to Sadanand Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur district, the police have already arrested five people, including the Narayanpur district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in connection with the incident. He said that a case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to Kumar, adequate number of security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in Narayanpur district and the situation in the area is peaceful.
