Deputy Engineer of Municipality, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh has been arrested for taking bribe of thousand rupees. He had demanded this amount from the complainant in lieu of getting permission for the construction of the house. Sagar Lokayukta has caught the accused sub-engineer red-handed. According to the information Umesh’s father Hargovind Chaurasia resident of village Pipat Tehsil Bijawar, District Chhatarpur had complained to Sagar Lokayukta. It was told in this that he was running a private consultant agency, and he had to get the house constructed, for which he had gone to the construction branch of Chhatarpur municipality to get permission. There, Deputy Engineer of Public Works Branch Municipality met Baburam’s father Jagannath Chaurasia. Who had demanded thirty thousand rupees in return for the work. Sagar Lokayukta Police DSP Prafulla Srivastava and his team confirmed the complaint and prepared the trap. The complainant Umesh was sent to the Public Works Department of the municipality after taking thirty thousand rupees. As soon as Umesh gave this amount to deputy engineer Baburam’s father Jagannath Chaurasia, he was arrested red-handed by the Lokayukta team. ,
