Utsav-Bharat@967: Central Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today described the youth as the builders of the future and asked them to work for the development of the country. Thakur inaugurated the All India Youth Festival-India@967 from IIT, Ropar in Punjab. He also launched the dashboard of Yuva Utsav. Youth festival organized simultaneously in the country… Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh), Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Dhar and Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh), Hanumangarh (Rajasthan), Seraikela (Jharkhand), Kapurthala (Punjab), Jalgaon (Maharashtra), being carried out in Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Karimnagar (Telangana), Palakkad (Kerala) and Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu).
WE ARE THE BIGGEST YOUTH-FORCE IN THE WORLD Addressing the function, Thakur said- We are the biggest youth force in the world and we should try to achieve our immense potential. He told the youth – You (youth) should not live your life only for yourself, your career or your family. Take a pledge for the future of the country and the development of the country. Let us be a part of the change we wish to see.
Choose a social cause, which is close to heart The minister urged the youth to choose a social cause which is close to their heart and work to address these issues. He said- youth are not just the present, but you are also the makers of the future. Thakur referred to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and urged the youth to make them proud. Thakur also talked about the importance of coarse grains. He said that millets have the potential to increase the income of farmers, save water and restore soil fertility.
India is the third largest start-up eco-system in the world Union Minister said- Today, India has become the third largest start-up eco-system in the world. We have unicorns. We have the maximum number of start-ups in a day in any country. He said- Our economy has increased from ‘Fragile-Five’ to ‘First-Five’. All this has become possible due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and initiatives like Start-up India and Stand-up India. In the first phase, youth festival programs are being hosted by the school and college of the district, in which youth volunteers and members of youth clubs affiliated to NYKS are participating, apart from neighboring educational institutions.
