GoI Action against YouTube Channels & 6 Websites: The Central Government has said in the Rajya Sabha that those who are running a campaign against the country and creating confusion and fear in the society will be banned from YouTube Along with the channels, action has been taken against five Twitter accounts and six websites under the IT Act.

) Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information in response to supplementary questions during the Question Hour in the Upper House. He said that the Government of India has been taking action under the relevant sections of the IT Act in the matter of campaigning against the country and spreading confusion and fear in the society.

He said that in such cases till now the channels of YouTube, 22 Video, four accounts and two posts of Facebook, three and Action has been taken against five Twitter accounts and six websites. He said that along with this two apps have also been banned.

Thakur said that in such cases the Government of India writes letters to the concerned forums and they only take action. He said that the government has taken action in such cases and will continue to act further if needed. (with language input)
