37 were big landlords
Among the Zamindars 13000 were the big landlords and were known as Jagirdars and the area given to them, was their Jagir (Jagir). He had no ownership rights over the land as it was with the Maharaja. However, they were the owners of the revenue of the areas given to them. Apart from the jagir, the state also entrusted him with the power to rule the people of his jagir. The jagirdars had to collect revenue directly from the people of the various villages that came under their jagirs. This included land revenue, grazing fee, forest fee, income from water mill and other sources. Usually, they took about percent of the produce and left percent to the tiller.
