Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Ravi Kumar Singh said that during the investigation, the police came to know that the number from which the call was received was of Prakash, after which Prakash was arrested. Singh told that Prakash told during interrogation that his childhood friends Rakesh and Kunal Sehrawat had recently gone to Manali and there they befriended two women. Both the women were going to Pune yesterday by flight number SG-8938. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Prakash's friends told him that they wanted to spend some more time with their friends, and also asked him to make a plan to delay the flight. Singh said that the trio planned to make a bomb call to the call center of SpiceJet Airlines to get the flight cancelled. Prakash called the customer care and said - flight number SG-8938 has a bomb. When the staff of SpiceJet called him, he stopped taking their call.
