Rahul Gandhi’s petition in the Modi surname case will be heard in the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court will hear the Gujarat High Court’s order refusing to stay the conviction in the defamation case. A bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice PK Mishra is hearing the case. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Rahul Gandhi, mentioned the matter on July and requested for urgent hearing of the petition, following which a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud agreed to hear the petition. Let me tell you, Rahul Gandhi has said in his petition that if the July 7 order is not stayed, it will suffocate free speech, free expression, free thought and free expression.
