Karnataka Assembly Election: The dates of Assembly Elections in Karnataka are yet to be announced. But BJP and Congress have already started fielding. Bommai said that the four percent reservation for minorities will be divided into two parts between 2C and 2D. The four per cent reservation for Vokkaligas and others will increase to 6 per cent while Veerashaiva Panchamasali and others (Lingayats), who were getting 5 per cent reservation, will now get 7 per cent. Siddaramaiah was fielded from Varuna seat On the other hand, Congress's Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been fielded from Varuna seat in the first list of candidates. According to the list, Pradesh Congress Committee chief DK Shivakumar will contest from his Kanakapura assembly constituency. The party has fielded former deputy chief minister G Parameshwara from Koratagere (SC) constituency. Former ministers KH Muniyappa and Priyank Kharge will contest from Devanahalli and Chittapur (SC) respectively. Priyank is the son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Central Election Committee of the party approved the first list of candidates after a meeting in Delhi on March. The committee was chaired by Congress chief Kharge.
