Rare cat found in Bandhavgarh National Park - Photo : Social Media Expansion A rare species of cat 'Rusty Spotted Cat' has been seen about three hundred meters before the elephant camp in the Khitauli range of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Tourist Chetan Gharpure captured this rare species of cat in the camera on the morning of 6 November. He told that this species of cat has been seen for the first time in Bandhavgarh. Earlier this cat was caught in a camera in the Sanjay Dubri Tiger Reserve of Sidhi. Tourists had seen a cat of this species during night safari in Panna Tiger Reserve too. It is called Rusty Spotted Cat because of the beige colored spots on its body. It was originally found from the southern forest areas of India to Sri Lanka and Nepal. Now it has been considered in the extinct category due to its decreasing number continuously. PCCF Wildlife JS Chauhan informed that Rusty Spotted Cat has been placed in Schedule I in case of extinction. The tiger is the largest and most powerful member of the cat family, while the Rusty Spotted Cat is the smallest. Its availability is a sign that the ecosystem of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is very good. 'Rusty Spotted Features of 'CAT' This rare cat has brown fur with brownish-reddish spots and streaks of almond color. It has four black lines above its eyes, two of which extend to the top of the neck. There are six dark colored stripes on either side of the head, which extend to the cheeks and forehead. Its chin, throat, inner part of legs and abdomen are, or may be, predominantly white. On which there are small brown spots. Its paws and tail are uniform reddish brown. 750 is the smallest species of wild cat Length of Rusty Spotted Cat 11 to 13 inches, while the maximum height can be up to an inch. Whereas, from full adult cat to inches long and five and a half to one and a half inches high. It is the smallest species of wild cat. Its maximum weight can be up to one kg. These leopards are just as shy. And also the night. It often comes out for hunting only at night. ,
