Guwahati : The Himanta Biswa Sarma government of Assam has extended the 'disturbed area' notification under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from next April 1. has been extended for the next six months in eight districts of the state. According to a notification issued by the state Home and Political Department on Wednesday, the disturbed area 'tag' has been extended to Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. However, the 'disturbed area' tag will be removed from Lakhipur sub-division of Cachar district from April 1 after reviewing the law and order and security scenario in the state. 36
