According to media reports, Arif Khan, a resident of Shujalpur, has changed his name to Anand Tyagi after adopting Sanatan Dharma. Arif adopted Sanatan Dharma in the presence of workers of Jarang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. During this, he also got shaved and worshiped in Maa Rajarajeshwari temple wearing saffron clothes. Arif had given application in the court to adopt Sanatan Dharma

After adopting Sanatan Dharma, Anand Tyagi said that he has adopted Sanatan Dharma of his own free will. There is no pressure of any kind on him. However, there is a buzz that he has converted to Sanatan Dharma to marry a Hindu girl. In the past, Arif had also given an application in the court to change his religion.
