According to the information received from YS Sengar, District Manager of State Warehousing Corporation Katni, the responsibility of care and protection of paddy purchased at the divisional level is on contract. Go Green was given to the company. Apart from the warehouse at Majhgawan, the company had stored paddy in open cabs. Security was not arranged by the company to protect the paddy kept in the open cab. A letter was also written to him in this regard. The recovery of the value of the stolen paddy will be done from the concerned company as per the terms of the contract. According to the information received from Badwada police station in-charge SI Ankit Mishra, the contractor company had given a written complaint regarding the theft of paddy from the open cap. The responsibility of the care and protection of the paddy was that of the contractor company as per the contract. Despite having an open cab, the contractor company had not got CCTV cameras and phrasing done from the point of view of security. Security guards were not even deployed for security. The company was grossly negligent in complying with the terms of the contract. The company did not even tell in the complaint that how much paddy was stolen. The police have not registered an FIR as the complaint is suspicious. Saurabh Malviya, the project head of the contractor company, told that he is not aware of how much paddy was stolen from the open cap. Discussion is on with the concerned authorities in the case of stolen paddy. A complaint was made to the police regarding the theft of paddy. According to the information received from the sources, about thousand sacks of paddy have been stolen from the open cab. The cost of one sack is 1950 Rs. Accordingly, a scam of about Rs 7 crore has taken place. Efforts are on at the highest level to clear it.
