In the bill, strict sections of death penalty or life imprisonment have been included against any person from abroad involved in piracy. S Jaishankar said that the provision of death penalty has been kept in the rarest of rare cases, but flexibility has also been adopted in this. He said that there is a provision of extradition in it. The countries from where the extradition will be made, if the death penalty has been abolished there, then those countries can seek assurance from us in this regard. He said that this condition will be considered for extradition. The Foreign Minister said that there is a system of designated courts for cases related to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the National Investigation Agency Act. He said that the decision regarding the specified court was taken in consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
