Covid In India: Three cases of Omicron subvariant BF.7, which is responsible for increasing cases of corona in China, have also come to light in India. Giving information on Wednesday, official sources said that the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center had detected the first case of BF.7 in India. He said that so far two cases have been reported from Gujarat. Whereas, one case has been reported from Odisha.

In the Kovid review meeting convened today under the chairmanship of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, experts said that although there has not been an overall increase in the number of Kovid cases so far. But, constant monitoring is needed to keep an eye on existing and emerging formats. According to official sources, various cities in China are currently in the grip of Omicron, the highly contagious form of Covid, mostly BF.7, which is the main strain spreading in Beijing. Due to this, there has been a huge jump in the cases of Kovid infection in China.
BF.7 Subformat of BA.5 as Omicron
BF.7 is a subtype of BA.5 in omicron form and has a wider infectivity and shorter incubation period and higher potential to cause reinfection or infect those who have been infected who have been vaccinated. It has already been found in several countries including the US, the UK and European countries such as Belgium, Germany, France and Denmark.
