Bihar Hooch Tragedy: The case of death due to spurious liquor in Bihar has reached the Supreme Court. A petition requesting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the spurious liquor tragedy has been filed in the court. Till now people have lost their lives due to poisonous liquor. The petition has been mentioned for urgent listing before a bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha.

The bench told advocate Pawan Prakash Pathak, who mentioned the matter, that the petitioner has to follow due process for listing the matter. The two-week winter vacation of the apex court will begin from Friday. After this, the work of the court will start on January 2.

A top official of Saran district told that two more died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Bihar. Due to the death of people, the death toll has increased to .
