According to the Election Commission, 5,99,382 voters are such, whose age is 14 to 38 years. Whereas, 4,945 voters are above years. Whereas, are NRI voters, including 99 males and 30 are women. In the first phase there are 14, 382 polling stations. Of which 3,311 in urban areas and 14, are in rural areas. Prominent candidates include Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel from Ghatlodiya, Aam Aadmi Party's chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi from Khambhalia, former Congress leader and BJP candidate from Viramgam Hardik Patel, former Congress leader and now BJP candidate from Gandhinagar South Alpesh Thakor, AAP state president Gopal Italia from Katargam constituency, Gujarat Home Minister (State) Harsh Sanghvi from Majura, Rivaba Jadeja from Jamnagar North, former Gujarat minister Purushottam Solanki from Bhavnagar Rural, Kunvarji Bavaliya from Jasdan, Kantilal Amritiya from Morbi and Jayesh Radadia Contesting from Jetpur. The counting of votes will take place on December 8. The results of Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will also be declared on the same day.
