According to the Election Commission data, a total of 1,621 candidates are contesting in the Gujarat elections to be held in two phases on 1st and 5th December next month, Out of which 621 are female candidates. Out of these women are independent. In the elections held in Gujarat in 2017, out of a total of 1, 621 candidates were female candidates. That year Gujarat had sent women candidates to the assembly. In this, there were 9 women candidates of BJP and 4 of Congress. The data of the Election Commission shows that at least 139 women candidates’ deposits were forfeited. ,
