Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has expressed grief over the Manipur violence and atrocities against women. She wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu expressing grief over the unspeakable atrocities against women in violence-hit Manipur and urged him to take steps to ensure peace in the northeastern state. A few days after the video surfaced of women being paraded naked in Manipur, Soren said in the letter that the country cannot allow the barbaric treatment of tribals in Manipur. Soren has said, silence in the face of brutality is a terrible crime, so I am compelled to write to you with a heavy heart and deep pain at the violence in Manipur today. I am deeply distressed and concerned about the deteriorating condition of Manipur, unspeakable atrocities and sexual exploitation against women.
