Before sowing crops, the farmers who consider the earth as their mother first worshiped the mother earth and offered them worship materials and wished that this crop would be good. Farmer Ashok Prajapat of Sarola area said that the work of sowing the fields has started as soon as the rains started. The farmer said that the farmers worshiped the fields as the goddess of the earth for a good harvest before sowing has started the festival by placing adornments and offerings in red cloth on the ground of the field and wished God for a good harvest.

Meanwhile, farmer Prem Choudhary of village Ratdia said that farmers worship the fields as Bhu-devi for good harvest and Agricultural machinery is also worshipped. Only then does sowing begin. Soybean, maize, groundnut and sorghum are sown in the Malwa region during the rainy season.
