Hem Kumar Chhetri told that the work of evacuating all the 2,464 tourists stranded after torrential rains for three days was completed last evening. District Magistrate of North Sikkim said that all tourists and students of Namchi College 34 were sent to their respective destinations in vehicles by the authorities. He thanked BRO (Border Road Organisation), GREF, ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police), Army and district officials for successfully evacuating the tourists.
