The High Court had earlier confirmed the death sentence. The case has reached the High Court for the second time for the confirmation of the death sentence. It is notable that the Khandwa District Court on March 4 Anokhilal was punished with capital punishment for raping a 9-year-old innocent girl and killing her. The case was referred to the High Court for confirmation of the death sentence. The High Court had agreed on the death penalty, terming the decision of the District and Sessions Court as correct. Against this the Supreme Court was taken refuge. The Supreme Court had directed the District Court to re-hear the case by a special bench. After hearing the case, the special bench convicted the convict in August 2013 was sentenced to death. The Special Bench had referred the case to the High Court for confirmation of the sentence. An appeal was also filed in the High Court against the sentence on behalf of the convict. During the hearing, a request has been made on behalf of the petitioner to grant permission for the test of the doctor who gave the DNA report.
