A case of attempt to abduct two girl students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus by some inebriated persons has come to light. A day after the incident, the police arrested a person. Members of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) alleged that some inebriated car-borne men entered the campus and tried to abduct two girl students. After which the police have registered two separate cases. Manoj C, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South-West Delhi, said, "Two complaints have been received from JNU students, one related to assault and the other related to molestation and attempted kidnapping." Cases have been registered. Explaining further, he said, in both the cases the accused and the vehicle used in the incident is the same. The police is continuously engaged in the investigation of this matter. A police officer told that on the basis of CCTV footage, a person has been arrested, who has been identified as Abhishek. He told that he is not a student of the university. JNUSU also demanded the Vice-Chancellor to file a complaint with the police, saying in a statement, "The Vice-Chancellor of JNU should also file a police complaint regarding this incident." The Vice Chancellor should talk to the people of JNU about the repeated security lapses in the campus. According to the statement, one of the girl students who was attacked has been medically examined and has lodged a complaint. According to the information, these accused have clearly harassed other students roaming in the campus. In this case, one accused Abhishek has been taken into custody while the other four accused are currently absconding. Based on the place of occurrence, the police have registered two separate FIRs at Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh police stations. In the first case, two girl students who had gone out for a walk after having dinner were molested and an attempt was also made to kidnap them. Talking about the incident, the police said that the incident took place during the night 79. O 'clock 11: 11 and the PCR call was received at around 1 in the night. ,attempts to drag girls inside the car Police was informed about this incident by a third student on a call. On the call, the student told that some drunk men were trying to drag two girl students inside their car. The car has been identified as Swift DZire. Both the victim girls lodged a complaint in the police station the next morning. The students claimed that there were five youths in the car when the incident took place and all of them were drunk. When those youths tried to drag her inside the car, she started screaming. On being shouted by the girls, the boys got scared and ran away. The police told that they : 11 at PCR one on The call was received, further stating that the officer said that the men were sitting inside the car with the door open and eating ice cream. At the same time these students were passing from there. The students asked the youths to close the doors of the car. After this, an argument started between the two sides and the students were allegedly beaten up by the youths. The student was sent for medical examination and IPC section 341 was registered against the youth at Kishangarh Police Station. and a case has been registered under IPC section 341.
