Damoh District of Madhya Pradesh Sagar Lokayukta has taken action. The additional program officer posted in MNREGA has been arrested for taking a bribe of twenty thousand. He was demanding bribe in lieu of verifying the photo of Gravion’s construction work by downloading it on the portal.

According to the information, the matter pertains to District Panchayat Patera of Damoh district. A complaint was made to the Lokayukta on behalf of Sarpanch Anand Singh of Gram Panchayat Shikarpura. Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Khede told that Sudarshan Patel, posted as Additional Program Officer in MNREGA branch of Janpad Panchayat Patera, from Gram Panchayat Shikarpura Sarpanch Anand Singh, in lieu of verifying the photo of the construction work of Gravion by downloading it on the portal The amount was being demanded. The photo was not being verified by the program officer for not giving the amount.

The Lokayukta team found the complaint correct after investigation. He prepared a trap to catch the accused officer red handed. In the Lokayukta team on Thursday afternoon, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Khede, Prafulla Srivastava, Inspector VM Dwivedi, Abhishek Verma and other colleagues were sent by Sarpanch Anand Singh to Additional Program Officer Surdshan Patel While giving a bribe of thousand, he was caught red-handed. ,
