Nazul’s land situated behind Bhopal District Jail was provided to Municipal Corporation for public use. But the officials were getting the commercial complex constructed on this land through PPP mode. In lieu of this, only crore rupees were being given to the corporation. There was direct connivance of the officers to the leaders in this big land scam. The responsibility of investigation on the complaint was given to the Bhopal Lokayukta. After years of ongoing investigation, the Lokayukta officials admitted that the then corporation commissioner Garhpale and EE Baghel had openly defied the rules in the construction. At the same time, tried to change the committee formed to benefit the construction contractor at its own level. The Lokayukta has registered a case under Section 7 (c) on the basis of preliminary investigation against the then Commissioner Garhpale and EE Baghel.
