On the one hand, the liquor policy in Madhya Pradesh is giving a message that we should try to reduce the consumption of alcohol. On the other hand, the liquor shopkeepers are defying the rules and devising such methods, due to which liquor is available overnight. A similar picture has emerged from Umaria district. In this, liquor is being sold overnight through a small window in the shutter of the liquor shop. Videos of this feat are also going viral on social media. This is the case of a liquor shop in Umaria. The administration of Umaria district may make lakhs of claims and promises, but still the contractors of English and country liquor shops are clearly seen turning water on the intention of the administration. To name a few, the shop remains closed, but this game continues even after the shop is closed. A small window has been made in the shutter of the shop, when the liquor shop is closed by dropping the shutter, then this window opens. On knocking on the shutter, one is asked from inside what is required. You get liquor by paying money. People say that this is not possible without someone’s protection. This game is happening right under the nose of the administration. But no action could be taken. When District Excise Officer Reena Gupta says in this regard that the matter has come to the fore. I have instructed the Sub Inspector to take action. ,
