The next president of NCP will be from the Pawar family

If the party leaders are to be believed, The post of NCP chief is likely to remain within the Sharad Pawar family, as handing over the reins to someone from outside could lead to a rift in the 1999-formed organization and a power tussle. These leaders asserted that three-time Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule has established herself as an effective parliamentarian and has contacts with leaders of all political parties. Ajit Pawar, on the other hand, has a good hold on the state unit and is widely seen as an able administrator. Besides, Ajit Pawar had recently talked about his dreams of becoming chief minister, these leaders said, while Sule has always said that national politics is in his best interest.
