Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday inaugurate 84 FM transmitters spread across 35 states and two Union Territories, which will enable FM transmitters in border areas and aspirational districts. Will promote radio contact. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that aspirational districts and border areas are at the center of this effort. According to the PMO, with this effort radio services will reach an additional two crore people, who till now did not have access to this medium. This will further increase the coverage in about 35, sq.km area. According to the statement, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands 91 new FM transmitters of 91 watts have been installed in total 35 districts.
