Shivkumar hit back at Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje's allegation that his party BJP is not taking 40 per cent commission. Significantly, Karandlaje has accused Shivakumar of allegedly demanding a bribe while issuing B-forms to party candidates before filing nominations for the assembly elections. Shivkumar said- We are only raising funds for the party. We are taking Rs 2 lakh from general candidates and Rs 1 lakh from SC/ST candidates. Karnataka will go to polls in a single phase for the Assembly elections on 13 May and the results will be announced on 13 May.
