Doctor. Paramjeet Singh (ART center in-charge, Sushila Tiwari Hospital) said that 44 prisoners have been found HIV positive in Haldwani Jail, Uttarakhand. A female prisoner has also been found to be HIV positive. An ART (Antiretroviral Therapy) center has been set up for HIV patients, where infected patients are treated. My team continuously tests the inmates in the jail and all the inmates who are infected with HIV are given free treatment and medicines based on the guidelines of NACO.
