Let us tell that in this incident that shook Kerala, on Sunday night, the accused had sprinkled petrol on the people traveling in the train and set them on fire. The incident took place when the train reached Korapuzha bridge near Elathur. 9 people were scorched in this incident who are admitted in various hospitals. Bodies of a woman, an infant and a man, who went missing from the train after the fire broke out, were recovered from the tracks near Elathur railway station late on Sunday night. Police believe that they may have fallen from the train after the fire or may have fallen while trying to get down. Initially, it was believed that the incident took place due to a dispute between the accused and another passenger. After this, the police and a passenger present in the compartment said that the accused had no dispute with anyone. He poured a flammable liquid—possibly petrol—on the passengers and set them on fire, causing nine burns.
