The officer said that when the accused was leaving the house on the pretext of getting the punctured tire fixed, his daughter Uzma asked him for five rupees. He said other family members, including the girl’s mother, understood that Uzma had gone with her father. Khatana made Uzma sit in his vehicle and drove for over an hour and waited for the road to become deserted so that he could kill himself, the officer said.
