At least 37 per cent of pilots in India are women, which is three times the global figure of five per cent. According to statistics, however, at present there is no specific program by the government to motivate women, OBC, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) class for pilot training. As per reports, 67 expatriate pilots are also working with various flight companies in the country.
