At least 37 per cent of pilots in India are women, which is three times the global figure of five per cent. According to statistics, however, at present there is no specific program by the government to motivate women, OBC, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) class for pilot training. As per reports, 67 expatriate pilots are also working with various flight companies in the country. As per the data received from various airline companies scheduled in India, total 2021 pilots were recruited in 2021. According to statistics, in the next five years, 1, 10 pilots will be needed every year in the country.
